Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 14, 2026
Our commitment
The Lax Teacher is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability. We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we've done
- Skip link: The first focusable element on every page jumps past the navigation directly to the main content.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields, the mobile menu, and the sticky CTA bar) are reachable and operable with a keyboard alone.
- Focus indicators: A visible focus ring shows keyboard users where they are on the page.
- Color contrast: Body text contrast exceeds the 7:1 AAA threshold. Brand accents and focus rings meet or exceed the 3:1 minimum for non-text UI elements.
- Reduced motion: When the operating system requests reduced motion (
prefers-reduced-motion), looping video backgrounds and decorative animations are suppressed. - Semantic structure: Pages use proper landmarks (header, main, footer), one H1 per page, and a logical heading hierarchy.
- Forms: Every form field has a programmatic label, error messages are announced to assistive technology, and invalid fields are flagged with
aria-invalid. - Images: Meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images use empty
alt=""so screen readers skip them. - Video: The hero video has a poster image fallback and is fully decorative. Drill clips include native browser controls.
Known limitations
We are actively working to improve accessibility. If you encounter content that is difficult to use with assistive technology, please let us know so we can fix it.
